The Paragon School, Bath is seeking to appoint a versatile, dynamic and talented permanent Peripatetic Singing Teacher to join this flagship department for approximately eight hours per week, term times only for a start date of early 2024.
The Paragon is an independent, co-educational day school based in a beautiful Georgian house a mile from the centre of Bath. Catering for more than 250 children aged three to 11, we offer a broad curriculum taught in small classes by teachers with a real passion for their subject. The school comprises Squirrels Pre-School, a Pre-Prep and Prep School. The Paragon is the junior school of Prior Park College and part of the Prior Park Schools family which also includes Prior Park School in Gibraltar.
The Singing Teacher is a key role providing 1:1 singing lessons to Paragon students. In addition, there may be the possibility to lead a choir and cover some pre-prep classroom lessons.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant music department in a school that values music. As well as being an embedded feature of the curriculum, outside of the classroom we offer four choirs, samba bands, African drumming clubs, instrumental ensembles and an orchestra. The school participates in Young Voices events, Voices for Life concerts projects in Bath Abbey, competes at the Midsomerset festival, presents 2 musicals every year and often collaborates with Prior Park College.
The department comprises a Director of Music and 7 visiting music teachers. A music administrator also manages all weekly timetabling, pay administration and exam bookings. Music is housed in a purpose-built ‘swiss chalet’ in the grounds of Lyncombe House with one large classroom and three individual practice rooms. The larger room is often used for small recitals and has a Kawai baby grand piano. The smaller rooms are all equipped with clavinova-style pianos.
Duties include:
· To provide 1:1 singing lessons to students of all ages.
· Depending on candidate’s availability there may be an opportunity to lead a choir and get involved with classroom projects.
· Participate in school concerts and events, where appropriate. This may be in the evening.
· Prepare students for competitions, performances and external board examinations.
· Provide piano accompanying for exams or concerts.

We are seeking to appoint a versatile, dynamic and talented peripatetic Guitar Teacher, both classical and electric, from beginner to advance to join this flagship department from April 2024 for a predicted 4 hours per week.

Prior Park College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic cleaner to join the busy and friendly Estates Team to support the school with cleaning of all public areas. Flexibility in hours worked from early mornings, afternoon or evenings - 30 hours per week available.
Set in a stunning location Prior Park College is an exceptional 11-18 HMC senior school set in a stunning 57-acre estate in the heart of the World Heritage City of Bath.
The post holder will report directly and be line-managed by the Domestic service Manager however work closely and under the guidance of the Cleaning Supervisor, with day to day responsibilities for their own work priorities and maintenance of high standards. This is an important role by carrying out cleaning and associated duties at the school premises. The main purpose of this position is to deliver a first-class cleaning service to include classrooms, toilets, offices, hall, and reception areas.
Will be expected to work independently, but as a part of a team with a duty of care for their own health and safety and the health and safety of others, particularly when undertaking their cleaning duties.
The post holder will ensure care, attention to detail and compliance with safety policies and procedures at all times. The school will provide all necessary personal protective equipment and work-based training relevant to the role. In addition, the Cleaner will actively participate in relevant safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and other training that the School may deem necessary or beneficial to the School and / or the Cleaner’s own development.
The Estates Cleaner will be based at Prior Park College with flexibility to work The Paragon School (a short walk/drive away) as part of the team, if required to cover the needs of the business.

Purchase Ledger Clerk - Bath

Prior Park College is looking to appoint a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the friendly finance team covering maternity leave from February 2024, to include a handover period. This is a full-time, year-round position.

The main purpose of the role is to monitor company spending, preparing and process payments by BACS or bank transfer for all goods and services purchased. Also, to check and code invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and resolve any purchase enquiries or disputes.
Working closely with and supporting the Financial Controller in the operation of the Purchase Ledger Finance function for both Prior Park College and The Paragon School.
The Finance Department is a central function providing comprehensive financial and payroll services across the three schools. The team consists of the Financial Controller, an Assistant Accountant a Purchase Ledger Clerk, a Finance Assistant, for dedicated support to Prior Park School, Gibraltar and a Finance Assistant, Fees Clerk. The Finance function operates all year round.
Will be experienced in purchase ledger to include:
· Authorising, coding & processing invoices
· Setting up new supplier accounts & maintaining existing accounts
· Running fortnightly BACS payments
· Reconciling Direct Debits
· Reconciling of supplier statements
· Processing bank transfers
· Filing & archiving invoices
· Processing Finance post
· Processing credit card payments
· Matching Purchase Orders with invoices
This role will also include credit card recording and reconciling plus billing and budgets. Would suit someone with experience of finance systems with sound knowledge of IT, admin and office systems with proved experience of operating within a finance environment. Previous experience of working in a school or educational establishment would be desirable.
The post holder will be proactive with a keen eye for detail with good interpersonal and communication skills. They will be able to liaise with suppliers and staff at all levels in a friendly and professional manner. They will be expected to maintain the utmost confidentiality and will need excellent organisational skills and be able to demonstrate a methodical and organised approach.

The Registered Mental Health Nurse is a key role, working closely with the Lead Nurse and the Head of Compliance to support the proactive strategy for student health, including first aid, and pastoral care provision in the School. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified professional Lead Nurse to join our nursing team in our dedicated Health & Wellbeing Centre from January. The Health and Well-Being Centre provides medical, well-being, counselling, and pastoral support services to our student community at Prior Park College and potentially at The Paragon School. The post holder will play a key role in the proactive provision of health care at Prior Park College and The Paragon School. The successful applicant will provide all-encompassing, high-quality, and effective health care during school term time working hours on a rota basis.
This position would suit an ambitious and driven individual with appropriate qualifications and registrations (RGN/RN Child; NMC) and excellent professional standards. School nursing experience and a good understanding of adolescents and the boarding environment would also be advantageous.
