The BSR was the venue for this year's Christmas Concert and it was packed with an appreciative audience and an array of refreshments, generously supplied by POP.
The musical menu was a little different from previous years - the choirs had performed at last week's 'Wassail' and so it was left to the bands and, for the first time, House Music highlights to entertain the crowd.
The Concert Band kicked off proceedings with four arrangements, ranging from Queen's 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' to 'Sabre Dance' by Khatchaturian.
Christy from St Mary's performed the violin solo 'Czardas' by Monti, whilst the other House acts featured the groups - all were outstanding.
Qtime Band performed the appropriately named 'Fanfare for an Academic Occasion' and 'Simple Samba'.
Big Band concluded with modern and seasonal tunes, from Justin Timberlake to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, which the audience happily sang along to.
Thank you to the Music department for organising and to all performers, Bravo!
