L6 Creative Process lecture
L6 Art, Photography and Textile Design students attended an inspirational lecture at the Emanuel Centre, Westminster in which high-profile speakers within the art world introduced their work. Photographer Simon Norfolk gave an engaging lecture on environment and conflict as a focus of his practice. Rebecca Wright posed the question 'can graphic design save your life?' Top of the bill was renowned British artist Cornelia Parker OBE RA who discussed her experiences as official artist to the 2017 general election.
Award winning ceramicist Mary Jane Evans led a workshop for Art Scholars and award holders, introducing her processes and techniques. Students from several year groups enjoyed gaining hands-on experience with the medium of paper clay and produced some delicate and intricate ceramic sculptures based on natural forms.
