Our thanks to Fr Henry for conducting Mass this morning to celebrate Ash Wednesday and the first day of Lent. His Homily explained how Lent is a period to contemplate who we are meant to be; don't just think about what we shouldn't do but what we can do with our lives, to become more and more the best version of our self.
Ashes were blessed during the Mass and marked, in the shape of the cross, on the heads of staff and students, with the following said to each person:
Repent and believe in the Gospel
Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
The three themes of Lent are Prayer, Fasting and Charity and Fr Henry asked that we do all from the heart.
