Academic Scholars' Tea Party

The Academic Society convened in Academy Hall yesterday afternoon for a tea party hosted by the Headmaster and Deputy Head Academic Mrs Stotesbury.

Mrs Stotesbury addressed the scholars, saying "You are the role models, which can be challenging - you must take pride in this. Wear your badges with pride, contribute to academic societies, write articles, enter competitions and show others why you deserve this accolade."

The Society provides its scholars with many opportunities, starting with a women's trail blazers conference in Bristol. There is also the chance to get involved with the Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institute, attend lectures, compete in competitions, and in February there is a trip to Bletchley Park followed by a Codebreaking Challenge and Quiz.

Mr Murphy-O'Connor concluded the tea party by handing out gold Academic Society pin badges to the new members.
