We have a philosophy of ‘sport for all’ as well as striving for sporting excellence through our teams and as individuals. The school has a strong fixtures list, usually fielding ten teams in each sport every Saturday. We value sport, not only for the overall health benefits and well-being of our pupils, but also for the enormous benefits it brings in terms of motivation, humility, team work, interpersonal skills and confidence. Our outstanding onsite facilities and dedicated coaching means that we are able to encourage pupils to achieve the highest standards at regional and national level. Our pupils are involved at international, national and regional level as tennis, rugby and hockey players, athletes, swimmers and rhythmic gymnasts.
At the top end we compete with the best sporting schools and we are represented at county, national and international levels. The sporting Inter-House competitions involve nearly all pupils and engender great passion and friendly competition. A wide range of additional sports are also on offer at Prior Park. They play a major part in the sporting life of the College.
