Co-curricular

Co-curricular activities are a big part of life at Prior Park, but we strike a balance between working hard and playing hard, so that pupils can enjoy all the opportunities available.

We are known for our exceptionally high standards in creative art, music, drama, art and creative writing; with notable talent demonstrated in painting and sculpture, fashion design, singing, composing and the performing arts. Our approach is simple: we value each individual and focus our attention on developing their unique talents.

Not only do we attract talented teachers to our school, but the creative talents of our pupils are positively encouraged and indulged. We strongly believe that these talents and interests must be nurtured and allowed to flourish. With this in mind, we will do all we can to encourage and accommodate any student’s ambitions within and beyond the curriculum.

With a variety of activities on offer, we are confident about providing something for everyone. As well as the traditional rugby, hockey and cricket for boys and hockey, netball and tennis for girls, we offer swimming, volleyball, golf, sailing, rounders and much more. We value sport, not only for the overall health benefits and well-being of our pupils, but also for the enormous benefits it brings in terms of motivation, humility, team work, interpersonal skills and confidence.

Our outstanding facilities and dedicated coaching mean that we are able to help pupils to achieve the highest standards. Our pupils are involved at International, National and Regional level as rugby and hockey players, athletes, rhythmic gymnasts, bi-athletes and swimmers. The Combined Cadet Force, the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme and Saturday Active courses allow pupils further opportunities for archery, rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, abseiling and sailing.
