Being a Catholic School

At the core of a Catholic school’s mission is educating the whole person and thereby providing for all aspects of human development: intellectual, social and spiritual.

The distinctive nature of a Catholic and Christian education comes from being grounded on the person and teaching of Jesus Christ. This is expressed in many ways within the Prior Park Schools’ communities and a child-centred statement of values and attitudes has been endorsed in “The Prior Way” (see below). This is based on the profound teaching of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes to give focus to our schools living out Christian values within their distinctive traditions.

Prior Park Schools recognise the duty to use our talents, developing ourselves to be “the person God wants you to be”. We must celebrate the uniqueness of every child, be grateful for our gifts and generous in their use, be faith-filled and hopeful, reflective and wise, compassionate and disposed to serve others and truthful and honest in our dealings.

The pursuit of study, strong pastoral care, religious life and personal formation are integral to the Prior Park Schools.
