Governing Body

The Prior Park Educational Trust (PPET) is overseen by an experienced Body of Governors chaired by Commodore Christopher York. After a successful career, Christopher retired from the Royal Navy in 1998 and became the National Director of Apostleship of the Sea during a time of major change and development. In August 2004 Christopher was appointed by Pope John Paul II as a consultant for the Vatican Department which oversees the Church’s work amongst migrant and itinerant workers, including international seafarers. In 2008 Pope Benedict XVI awarded Christopher a Knighthood of the order of St. Gregory (KSG) for his service to the Catholic Church.

We currently work with a total of 15 Governors who draw upon a broad range of qualifications relevant to their role in managing the three Prior Park Educational Trust schools. The Governors include: former pupils current/former parents past secondary/primary Headteachers, law experts, successful business people, audit and tax experts and senior military officers.

The full Governing Body meets once every term and is supported by a Finance & General Purposes Committee that handles the day to day business. Each Headmaster is supported and guided by an Advisory Committee including a Governor with experience in the role. In addition, a Risk Management Sub-Committee focuses on this vital function and an Audit Committee is formed to review the annual assessment of the Trust’s finances and management.
